Today is International Student’s Day held annually as a tribute to the students killed during the Nazi German storming of Czech universities in 1939. The anniversary is considered as a nonpolitical celebration of the multiculturalism of universities’ international students.

On this occasion, we checked out which European cities attract students.

Berlin is one of the key cities in the central Europe offering exciting and fascinating experiences for students with cheap tours, convenient hostels, stunning festivals, and charming urban life. According to the graph below, there are 80 students per 1000 inhabitants.

Brussels is full of beautiful parks, walks, museums, galleries as well as theatres, clubs, and bars. The most famous attractions include Grand Place or The Belgian Centre for Comic Strip Art. The graph presents that there are 85 students per 1000 citizens.

Zürich is the largest city in Switzerland with a population of 400,000 residents.The students might find the city attractive as it offers beautiful and memorable places like Lake Promenade or Platzspitz – one of the oldest Zürich’s parks. We found out that there are 201 students per 1000 inhabitants.

Among the cities mentioned, Porto attracts students the most. The city is located in the north of Portugal and it is considered as the peaceful and beautiful place. Students can visit there Serralves Museum surrounded by magnificent park or they might also see São Francisco Church which one of the most stunning church completely covered in gold. According to our study, there are 253 students per 1000 residents.
